True Deep-Cycle Gel Batteries, Recommended by National Renewable
Energy Lab
These are the best sealed batteries available anywhere.
- These true deep cycle Sealed Gel Batteries are recommended by
the National Renewable Energy Labs.
- Completely maintenance-free, with no spills or fumes.
- Electrolyte is gelled, no stratification occurs, and no equalization
charging is required.
- Self-discharge is under 2% per month, and thinner plate
construction lets these batteries be charged or discharged faster
than other deep-cycle batteries.
- May be airline transported as approved by:
- DOT (Department of Transportation),
- ICAO (International Commercial Airline Organization), and
- IATA (International Airline Transport Association).
- Life expectancy is typically 3-5 years or more, but depends on
battery size and use — but no sealed battery will perform better or
longer than these.
- Amp-hour rating at standard 20-hour rate.
- Two-year mfg. warranty.
- Made in USA.
- Free shipping in the lower 48 states when you buy 15 or more!
- Can be shipped to customers in the contiguous U.S. only.
- Cannot be shipped to P.O. boxes.
- Express delivery not available.
- A custom freight quote is required for these items. Before
processing your order your approval is required on the shipping
quote.

Extending Battery Life
Get the longest life from deep-cycle batteries by keeping the state of
charge at 60% or more for wet cell and 70% or more for gel cells. For
accurate volt readings, don't charge or discharge batteries for two
hours.
Triple the Life of Your Batteries.
Regular cleanings, water top-off and equalizations can triple the life of
your batteries.
1. Equalize every time the batteries drop below a 50% state of charge,
sometimes two to four times a month.
2. Every chance you get, fully recharge your batteries. "Mostly"
charging most of the time doesn't cut it.
3. Check your batteries regularly. Look for crud on top — it can build up
and actually short between the posts, causing a constant discharge.
4. Be sure to give your batteries a good cleaning every two to three
months. Get on your grubby clothes, eye protection and gloves, and
ensure you have plenty of baking soda next to your batteries. Baking
soda neutralizes acid spills and leaks, removes corrosion from battery
terminals, and is safe for your skin. Then mix up a mild soap and water
solution and start cleaning. (Use an old paintbrush and rinse all
connections with clean water while checking for tightness and
corrosion.) Treat any posts and connections as required. Equalize the
battery bank, top off the water, check each cell's voltage and log it.
5. Don't overcharge a gel cell battery. There's no way to replace the
expelled electrolyte, and you'll shorten the battery's lifespan.
